Benjamin Franklin: An American Life
July 15, 2010 – This book by Walter Isaacson has been recommended to me for years. And it is such an excellent book about a remarkable man. He greatly influenced the country we have become in so many ways. He is credited with being the champion of middle class values, and clearly his life demonstrates how his core values helped to create his personal wealth, allowing him to serve Pennsylvania, and his country, for 50 years both here and abroad. His role in the Constitutional Convention of 1787 was pivotal: he brokered a series of concessions that has given us one of the greatest living documents of all time – The US Constitution. The book is such an enjoyable read – I highly recommend it.
