Speaking for Myself – Cherie Blair

Aug. 28, 2010 – Terrific book! Cherie Blair has a very engaging style and it’s a fascinating journey from her working class neighborhood in Liverpool to number 10 Downing Street as wife of Prime Minister Tony Blair. She’s candid in relating her story as a child, student, Barrister, candidate’s wife, mother of 4 and first lady of the UK for 10 years. It’s interesting to hear about world events from her perspective: from the death of Princess Diana to the UK’s campaign to host the Olympics and the fallout from the war in Iraq. She talks about the people in their inner circle who played an important role in those years and gives a voice and place to some who would not otherwise be known. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
